Make a timestamped tracklist for Mixcloud

Turn the timings from your DJ session or DAW project into a tracklist for your Mixcloud upload. Review the song names and transition times before sharing.

That makes an accurate list with real times worth more there than a rough one, and it is exactly what your DJ software already recorded.

Drop your project or session file here

Ableton .als, FL Studio .flp, rekordbox .cue, Traktor .nml or Serato .session.

Your file is read in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

No file to hand?

Run a real mix through it and see exactly what comes out. A twelve-track recording running an hour and a quarter.

Or a sample from:

On your phone?

Your project file is probably on another computer. Send yourself the link and pick this up there.

What you get back

A list ready to paste into a YouTube, SoundCloud or Mixcloud description.

0:00 Kestrel Lane - First Light
6:12 Ardent Fields - Paper Harbour
13:15 Nomi Vale - Slow Transit
19:48 The Quiet Wire - Understory

Accurate times, not estimates

Because the tracklist is part of how a mix is credited rather than only a convenience for listeners, it is worth having times that came from a record of the set rather than from scrubbing through it afterwards.

If you played out through rekordbox, Traktor or Serato, the start time of every track was written down as it happened. That is as accurate as it gets, and it takes one file to recover.

Artist and title kept apart

The three DJ programs record artist and title as separate fields, and that separation is preserved rather than flattened. You can switch the order between artist-first and title-first depending on how you prefer to list them.

Anything the software could not identify comes through with a time but no name, so you can fill it in rather than lose the entry.

If you built the mix in a DAW instead

Markers in Ableton Live or FL Studio work the same way. Name each one with the artist and title as you place it, and the list comes out in the same shape — the only difference is that you are supplying the names rather than your DJ software.

Questions

Why does Mixcloud want a tracklist?
Listing what you played is part of how a mix is presented on Mixcloud and how the artists in it are credited. A complete list with accurate times is worth more there than a rough one.
How accurate are the times?
They come from the file your software wrote, not from anyone estimating. rekordbox, Traktor and Serato record the moment each track started; Ableton and FL Studio record where you placed each marker. You can also add the mix audio and have the whole list checked against its real length.
Can I list artist and title separately?
They are kept apart wherever the source format keeps them apart, and you can switch between artist-first and title-first in the format settings.
